Newfoundland to Greenland, and Back Again. A Sailor’s Tale
Take a break from winter to join Saco Bay Trails for an evening of storytelling and conversation with sailor and adventurer Ted Scharf.

Recently Ted helped sail a 40-foot pilothouse cutter sailboat from St Thomas Newfoundland to Nuut Greenland and a bit more. His slide show and talk will be about the trip, some of the area, and a bit more.
Ted Scharf is an adventurer and lover of the outdoors. He's now retired but worked for the Department of Environmental Protection regulating underground oil storage
tanks. In his spare time, he has climbed mountains, kayaked rivers and the Gulf of Maine, and raced sailboats offshore. Since retiring in 2019 he has done sailing delivery trips from Maine to St John Virgin Islands and the coast of New England. He also is a mountain biker and mountain bike trail builder.
Trails, Tales & Ales will start at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 17th, in the side room at Run of the Mill at 100 Main Street, Saco. This will be a buy-your-own-beer (or food) event. Like all our events, it is free and open to the public. Unlike most events, no work gloves or boots are needed.
