Who we are

We are a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. Our goal is to acquire permanent public access to recreational hiking trails in the Saco Bay area. We work with private landowners, community and commercial organizations and government agencies. We are governed by a 12-member board of trustees and rely on volunteers for trail maintenance and administrative duties.

How can you become involved?

There are many ways you can get involved with Saco Bay Trails:

Our Vision
Saco Bay Trails envisions a permanent network of easily accessible, well-maintained, well-marked and well-known trails throughout the Saco Bay Area that are used by a wide range of people with a broad range of abilities.

Our Mission
Saco Bay Trails mission is to create and maintain this network of trails and to promote its acceptance and use by the public.

Memberships start at $15. All members will receive our twice-annual newsletter, a trail guide (at the $25 level and higher) and, if you wish, will receive email updates on trail work days and other events. For more information, see our membership page or contact our membership director.

Whether you're a member or not, we'd love to have your help. Whether it's building trails, performing administrative tasks and staffing an event booth, we'd love to have you. For more information, see our volunteer page or contact our volunteer coordinator.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations made to Saco Bay Trails are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are also a land trust and can accept donations of property or conservation easements.

Monetary donations may be sent to: Saco Bay Trails, P.O. Box 720, Saco, Maine 04072.

For more information about making donations, please contact Patti Brodeur.
