Snowshoe/cross country ski events get the new year off to a great start
Saco Bay Trails will be leading two snowshoe/cross country ski hikes in January, so be sure to set aside at least one of these days for a wonderful time that you'll never forget.

On Saturday, January 9, Max Brandt will lead a hike along the Middle Goosefare Trails in Saco. This section of the Goosefare watershed features a beaver dam and beautiful open spaces under the pines, all accompanied by Max's recollections of growing up in the area.

We'll meet at 10 a.m. in the lower parking lot of Saco Inn and Suites. Because the terrain will include a few small hills, we recommend snowshoes instead of cross country skis.

On Saturday, January 16, John Andrews will lead a hike along the Old Orchard Beach portion of the Eastern Trail. We'll meet at the Pine Point Road parking lot in Scarborough at 10 a.m. This terrain is very level and well suited to both snowshoes and cross country skis.

Both events are free and open to people of all ages and abilities
