The Red and Blue Dot Trails

View Red & Blue Dot Trails in a larger map

TRAIL BASICS
Length: About 1 mile.

Directions to the trailhead: Follow the directions for the Ted Wells Memorial Trail. From Temple Ave. in Ocean Park turn LEFT on Free St. At the junction with Winona Ave look for the trailhead in the woods on your left. There is limited parking along Free St. (The Red Dot Trail can also be accessed from the Covered Bridge on Temple Ave. and from the small parking area on Temple Ave. at Manor St.)

Estimated walking time: About 30 minutes.

These trails loop through the Ocean Park Association's Guild Park, an area of tall, majestic, rare old-growth hemlocks and white pines known locally as the Cathedral Pines. Ted Wells laid out both trails and the Ocean Park Association maintains them. The Red Dot is the main loop trail, and the Blue Dot is a spur that offers an alternative crossing over Hemlock Brook.
