Ferry Beach State Park may be reached by travelling south-easterly from Rt.1 on Beach Street whose name changes to Ferry Road near Laurel Hill Cemetery. (This road is also State Highway Rt. 9.) From Rt. 1 travel 2.5 miles to Bayview Road where you turn left. Follow Bayview Road for a quarter mile to the park entrance road on your right.
Ferry Beach State Park is open and staffed by the State during the warmer months but it is enjoyed for walking all year long. During summer the parking lot is open making this a convenient place to park for walking the sandy beach along Saco Bay. Winter visitors often park by the closed gates on Bayview Road. or on Rt. 9, Seaside Avenue. Summer parking is prohibited on Seaside Avenue.The 1.4 miles of trails within the park are wide, level and use boardwalks to cross wetlands. A detailed trail sign is located in the parking lot during the summer.
