TRAIL BASICS
Length: 1.4 miles of trails of various lengths.
Directions to park: From downtown Saco, travel north a few blocks on Main St to the traffic light and turn right onto Beach Street. Travel 2.8 miles and turn left onto Bayview Road. Go 0.4 mile and turn right into Ferry Beach State Park. There is a fee to enter the park during the summer. In the winter, you may park at the beginning of the entrance road.
Estimated walking time: Varies.

Ferry Beach State Park is open and staffed by the state during the warmer months, but it is enjoyed for walking all year long. During summer the parking lot is open making this a convenient place to park for walking the woods trails or the sandy beach along Saco Bay. There is a fee to enter the park in the summer. Winter visitors often park by the closed gates on Bayview Road or on Rt. 9. During the summer parking is prohibited on Rt. 9.

The 1.4 miles of trails within the park are wide, level and provide boardwalks to cross wetlands. A more detailed trail map is available from the parking lot attendant during the summer. Within the park by the shoreline is one of Maine's last remaining undeveloped natural sand dunes.
